Chief Wade has nearly 30 years of experience in the fire service. He began his career with Plano Fire-Rescue on February 28, 1989 and retired from the City of Plano to assume the position of Fire Chief with Sachse Fire-Rescue on May 2, 2016.  He has earned an A.A.S in Fire Protection & Safety Technology, a B.S in Fire Administration (Summa Cum Laude), and is currently working on his M.S in Emergency Services Management. The Chief is also enrolled in a Certified Public Management course.  He holds several Technical Certifications from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP). They include: Master Firefighter, Master Fire Inspector, Fire Instructor III, Incident Safety Officer, Fire Officer IV, and Head of Department.  Chief Wade also holds a Paramedic certification through the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS).
