We're doing a Department Spotlight this week!

The Finance Department has once again earned the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas (GFOA) for its budget beginning October 1, 2022. This is the 10th consecutive year of receiving this award, and it reflects the commitment of  leadership and staff to meet the highest principle of governmental budgeting. We are grateful to have such a wonderful Finance team, who had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines in four key categories to receive this award.

Sachse Public Library - Plant Swap

Join us for our free community Plant Swap on April 29!

Plan to arrive between 10:30 - 11 a.m. to bring in your plants as we all set up in the Library Meeting Room. At 11 a.m...let the swapping begin!

Bring the plants you would like to swap in containers you can give away. Usable cuttings are acceptable, as well as potted cuttings or full-size specimens. Please label your plants and bring a sign to let others know what plant it is and any details you would like to share. (Plant requirements such as indoor/outdoor, sun and water needs, etc.)

Pickleball Tournament - May 6

Hey there pickleball players! The Michael J. Felix Community Center is hosting another Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, May 6! 

Ages 18-55 will play from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and Ages 56+ will play from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.  

Cost: $20/team

Register yourself and your partner in person at the community center. Registration is open until April 25 at 4 p.m.

Kids Pickleball Clinic

Sign up your kiddos for our first Kids Pickleball Clinic coming this summer! Beginner and intermediate players are welcome. Paddles can be provided for beginners.

As a reminder, some residences may see a change in their bulk/brush collection schedule. Direct notification was sent to those affected (a specific area in Woodbridge West), so if you have not been contacted, your route has not changed.

Discover Your Bulk & Brush Collection Day

The City has new times to set out your bulk trash and brush collection. Bulk trash needs to be placed out no earlier than 48 hours prior to your scheduled collection day. What about brush? It goes out on the Saturday prior to your collection day.

Please Note: no more than 6 cubic yards of brush/bulk are allowed to be out on the curb at one time.
