Budget Process Engagement
Public Input/Hearings
The City Council historically holds, at minimum, two public input opportunities and will continue this practice as part of the current budget process to provide stakeholders opportunities to officially comment on the City's budget. An opportunity for early public input on the budget is held in early June, prior to the submission of the City Manager's preliminary budget to Council. A public hearing is also held after the preliminary budget is submitted to Council and before Council adopts the budget. This provides interested parties an opportunity to address new budget submittals and comments on budget topics.
Public Comment
At City Council meetings, the public is invited to address Council regarding any topic not already on the agenda during the Public Comment section of the meeting. Those wishing to comment on an agenda item at a public meeting may electronically submit a Public Meeting Speaker Form by 4 p.m. of the meeting day or by completing a form in person at the meeting. All forms are submitted to the City Secretary.
