Hazard Mitigation Action Plan

Current Status: 2020 to 2025

The Sachse Office of Emergency Management (OEM) coordinated with neighboring Dallas County jurisdictions to update the Dallas County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan.

The plan was approved by the State of Texas Mitigation Section and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Dallas County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan was adopted by Sachse City Council with updated approvals required every 5 years.

Purpose

The purpose of this Plan Update is to reduce the vulnerability of people and property in the planning area to the impacts of hazards and to become eligible for mitigation funding programs from FEMA.

This Plan was made possible through a grant provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and administered by the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG).
