The communications officers perform a critically important service.  These men and women receive all routine and emergency telephone and radio traffic for police, fire and emergency medical services, as well as all radio traffic for public works.

They answer after hours calls to City Hall, and they attend to all walk in traffic at the police department.  They also provide all information needed by officers regarding stolen cars, driver license and registration information.

REVERSE 9-1-1 NOTIFICATION SYSTEM ACTIVATED

The Sachse Police Department is pleased to announce the activation of its Reverse 9-1-1 Notification System. In the event of a city-wide emergency, the police department now has the capability of contacting the entire city one residence at a time. The system also allows staff to target a specific sector of the city. By entering parameters, the system allows the police department to make emergency notifications of crime alerts, missing children, vandalism, as well as city emergencies such as water main breaks, water outages due to repairs, sewer emergencies, and street closures and repairs to a targeted area of the city. The system operates from the 9-1-1 database, which is accessed using actual addresses throughout the city.

The calls are made to a citizen's land line phone.  If a resident does not have a land line phone but would like to be included in the Reverse 9-1-1 notification database, they need to contact Lieutenant Marty Cassidy at 972.495.2271, ext. 204.  Lt. Cassidy will take your information and add your cell phone number to the database.
