LOST PETS

If your pet gets lost and is picked up by the Sachse Animal Shelter, we will feature them here on this website while they are waiting for you to pick them up.  In the City of Sachse, stray animals with NO tags are held a minimum of three days and animals WITH tags are held a minimum of five days before placing them up for adoption.  Animal Control officers research lost and found reports and the pet license database for owner information, including any previous activity.  You may reach the Animal Control Officer at 972.495.2271, ext. 157.  If they are not immediately available, please leave a message and they will return your call as soon as possible.  The Shelter's fax number is 972.475.3330.  Or you may email the Shelter at animalcontrol@cityofsachse.com.

"Lucky" earned his name the hard way. He was picked up in a trap that had been set for feral cats and brought to the shelter. Once here, we saw how sweet and social Lucky was and placed him in our adoption program. He hangs out in the office and greets adopters but has not been able to find his new home yet. "Lucky" is a sweet boy who loves attention and being petted. There is no fee to adopt but he will need to be neutered and have a rabies shot to comply with adoption agreement.

This young female Tortoise-shell cat is a sweet little girl. She is about one year old and is vocal and curious. There is no fee to adopt, but her new family must get her spayed and vaccinated and turn in a copy of those receipts within 30 days to be in compliance with adoption agreement.

This female orange Tabby is a small sized, very affectionate cat.  She is so sweet and loves to rub your ankles.  Orange tabby females are not too common and her colors are beautiful. There is no fee to adopt, but her new family must get her spayed and vaccinated and turn in copies of the receipts within 30 days to be in compliance with the adoption agreement.

Bless her little heart, this poor Chihuahua mix needs a makeover. She has quite an under bite, so her "smile" is always showing. She weighs well under 10 lbs, but has long pencil legs. In typical Chihuahua fashion, she is leery of strangers, but is VERY attached and clingy once she knows someone. She prefers women over men. There is no fee to adopt, but her new family needs to get her spayed and vaccinated and turn in copies of those receipts.

"Sasha" is a pretty female German Shepherd, 1 to 2 years old. She has a finer build, like a Belgian Shepherd, not the classic stout build of a German style. She is a very sweet friendly girl, but needs some refinement on her manners. She pulls on the leash and still likes to jump on people. Shepherds are very smart and with a little bit of training she should be a straight A student. There is no fee to adopt "Sasha", but her new family must get her spayed and vaccinated and turn in copies of those receipts within 30 days to be in compliance with the adoption agreement.

Hoss is probably 6-7 months old (all adult teeth, but still glistening white). He is a BIG boy, and will get bigger. For a large puppy, he has very good manners already. He is gentle, and walks nicely on a leash. Good listener and not a hyper puppy. Great dog! There is no fee to adopt, but his new family must get him neutered and vaccinated and turn in copies of those receipts within 30 days.

This male Pomeranian is an adorable, bright-eyed little charmer. He has a very big personality for a small dog. He is not a pocket teacup Pomeranian, more like a little black fox. Beautiful coat, very glossy and silky. He has nice leash manners and looks forward to outside time. There is no fee to adopt, but his new family must get him neutered and vaccinated and turn in copies of the receipts.

This female Schnauzer is a spunky little angel full of fun and silly puppy antics. She loves to play with toys and hop up in your lap for fun time. For the most part she is leash trained and potty trained.  She has had her combo and kennel cough vaccines. There is no fee to adopt, but her new family must get her spayed and rabies vaccinated and turn in copies of the receipts within 30 days.

There is no adoption fee, but the prospective adopter must obtain all necessary vaccinations for the animal within 10 days of adoption and, if the animal is not spayed or neutered, must have the procedure completed within 30 days of the adoption.
