RECEIVES AWARD FOR PUMPKIN PROWL

Mario Bautista, Crew Leader and Cynthia Wiseman, Activity Coordinator
for the Sachse Parks and Recreation Department, accept the award.
The Sachse Parks and Recreation Department was honored recently at the
Texas Recreation & Park Society (TRAPS) conference held in November.
The Excellence in Programming Award for Region III was presented for
Sachse's innovation Pumpkin Prowl held in October each year. This
award is a tremendous honor for Sachse. Because of our location,
Sachse competes against cities in Regions III which encompasses
several large cities including Dallas,
Plano, Richardson, McKinney, Garland, Rockwall and Rowlett located in
Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, Ellis and Houston counties just to name a
few. Congratulations Sachse Parks and Recreation Department on
another job well done.
ARBOR DAY
PROCLAMATION PRESENTED
AT CITY COUNCIL MEETING

Lance Whitworth, Director of Parks and Recreation, received a
Proclamation from Mayor Mike Felix for 2008 Arbor Day during the October
6th City Council meeting.
PARKS COMMISSION
DEDICATES PAVILION

Parks and Recreation Commission dedicated the Joe and Patricia Stone
Park Pavilion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony during their July 17th
meeting. Back row left to right, Commission members Spencer
Hauenstein and Dan Stevens, City Manager Allen Barnes and Councilwoman
Pat McMillan; front row left to right, Commission member Scott
Whitfield, Patricia and Joe Stone, Commission member Jeff Bickerstaff
and Councilman Bill Adams, who is the Parks and Recreation Commission
liaison to the City Council. With six picnic tables and two
barbecue grills, City staff, Council and Parks and Recreation Commission
are very proud of the addition of this structure to the park.

JUVENILE CURFEW
You need to be aware that the City of Sachse has a juvenile curfew for
minors under the age of 17. Curfew hours are 11 pm to 6 am Sunday thru
Thursday; 12:01 am to 6 am Saturday and Sunday. Minors found to be in
violation of the curfew may be issued a citation. According to Section
12-1 of the Sachse Code, anyone under 17 years old commits an offense if
they are "about or upon any public place or in the premises of any
establishment within the city during curfew hours."
The juvenile curfew is included in the City of Sachse Code
Book, which may be viewed at City Hall or at the library.
