MISSION STATEMENT

The Public Library courteously provides fair, impartial, and equal access to information that meets the recreational, informational, and educational needs of the community.

  How do I obtain a library card?


 

Renewing Items

To renew items online, click here.

Once logged in, you may locate items, renew items, place holds on items, and, if you have set up a PIN, you may view your account online.
 

Returning Items

You may return all items on loan from the library 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  During regular hours of operation you may bring the items inside or you may place the items in either of the book drops, located on the south wall at the library entrance or in the library parking lot.
 

Loan Periods

Three weeks for most books including Interlibrary Loans and audiocassettes

Seven days for videocassettes, DVDs and music
 

Interlibrary Loan

Through the North Texas Interlibrary Loan Program patrons may obtain materials including books, audios and videos that are not owned by the Sachse Public Library.  Materials usually arrive in 5 to 10 days.  A Sachse Public Library card is required to use the Interlibrary Loan Program.
 

Meeting Room

Non-profit and cultural groups may reserve the Library Meeting Room, which has a 50 seat capacity.  A refundable deposit is required.  Please contact Dolores Greenwald, Director of Library Services at 972-530-8966 for more information.

General Services Available at Library

  • Public Internet Access - Wireless Internet Access

  • Job Search Information - Materials are available on resume writing and interviewing skills, as well as directories of company profiles

  • Copy Machine: $0.10 cents per page

  • Periodical Collection - The library subscribes to a large number of magazines, newspapers and other periodicals including SIRS, a service that groups magazine articles by topics.

  • Audiocassettes - Books on tape, for adults and for small children, and classical music are available.

  • Videos - CDs and VHS cassettes, including recent releases, children's movies, how-to's and more.

  • Reserve Service - Reserves (holds) may be placed on any library material.  Patrons are placed on a waiting list and notified when items have been returned and are ready for checkout.  This service includes best sellers and videos.
