Special Election Information

2017 Special Election

The City Council held an Election in May 2013, in which voters approved the option to increase the local sales and use tax to help fund street maintenance and repairs. The voters approved the 1/4 percent sales and use tax, which became effective October 1, 2013. Per state law, the municipal street maintenance tax expires every four years after it begins. The City is holding a re-authorization election to allow the voters to decide if they wish to continue providing a 1/4 percent sales and use tax for street maintenance repairs.

The election will occur in conjunction with the General Election being held on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
