Chief Bryan Sylvester

Chief Sylvester entered Texas law enforcement in October 1992 after serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S Army from 1989 to 1992 where he commanded a Military Police platoon deploying to Iraq and Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm. Upon leaving the army he served for over 22 years with the Richardson Police Department. While in Richardson, Chief Sylvester served in virtually every unit while promoting thru the ranks to Assistant Chief. He served as Asst. Chief from 2009 thru 2015 when he accepted the position of Chief of Police for the city of Sachse in August 2015.

Chief Sylvester holds a Bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University, a Master Peace Officer License, is a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, the Institute of Law Enforcement Administration Command Management College and the 235th class of the FBI National Academy. 

Chief Sylvester is a member of the Executive Advisory Board of the North Central Texas Fusion Center and serves on the Advisory Council of the Caruth Police Institute.


Lieutenant Martin Cassidy

Lieutenant Cassidy, an Air Force Veteran, began his law enforcement career with the Balch Springs Police Department in 1992.  In his 10+ years with the Balch Springs PD, he served in many roles, Field Training Officer, Crash Investigator, SWAT Team member, Motorcycle Officer and Patrol Sergeant just to name a few.

In January 2003 Lieutenant Cassidy left the Balch Springs PD and became a member of the Sachse Police Department. Within 6 months he promoted to the rank of Sergeant and supervised a patrol shift for several years before moving into a position as the Criminal Investigations Division Supervisor. After promoting to Lieutenant in May of 2006 he became the Commander of the Support Services area, encompassing Records, Dispatch and Criminal Investigations. After a realignment of the Police Department in 2016, Lieutenant Cassidy is now the Operations Commander, overseeing the Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions.  From August 2007 to December 2007 Lieutenant Cassidy served as the Interim Chief of Police for Sachse while the City searched for a new Chief, after the retirement of the previous Chief.

Lieutenant Cassidy was named as the Police Departments employee of the year in 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2010.

In his spare time, Lieutenant Cassidy has coached youth travel hockey since 2007. Coaching at the travel level for the Dallas Stars Selects, the Texas Aces, the Allen Americans and the Texas Warriors Youth Hockey Clubs.
