2016-2017 Street Maintenance Tax Project
What is street maintenance sales tax?
This is a sales tax approved by voters that is used for roadway improvements.
When did the City of Sachse implement this sales tax?
The supplemental sales tax of $0.25 (1/4 cent) was approved by voters in May, 2013. It was effective for sales beginning October 1, 2013, and the city received its first allocation from the state in December, 2013. The street maintenance sales tax expires four years after it takes effect unless voters vote to continue it in an election held for that purpose.
Street Maintenance Projects are done based on the PASER rating system. Each year in the fall staff goes to council with possible streets that have low PASER ratings. Council will choose which streets will become the next years Street Maintenance Tax Projects. Please see below for the this years projects.
