On September 1, 1997, Senate Bill 1417 was enacted. This bill requires a $25 time payment fee be collected when a person is convicted of a misdemeanor.

Municipal courts are required by state law to collect state court costs. These court costs are collected upon conviction and are assessed in addition to the fine. By law, court costs are assessed even when you plead guilty or nolo contendere.
Right to Appeal
Sachse Municipal Court is a court of record. A defendant has the right to appeal, from a judgment of conviction, in a municipal court of record. To appeal you must file an appeal bond with the municipal court within 10 days of the date of the judgment. For more information please contact the court administrator at 972.495.1212, option 2.
