below will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on May 10, 2008 for voting in
a general election, to elect two Council Members.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals addressed to the City of Sachse, Texas
will be received at the City of Sachse City Hall, City Secretary's
Office, 5560 Highway 78, Sachse, Texas, 75048, until 2:00 pm on May 21,
2008. The envelope must be sealed and clearly marked for "SEALED
BID" for "MURPHY ROAD WATER MAIN" (in the lower left hand corner).
Bids will be publicly opened and read at City Hall, Council Chambers,
5560 Highway 78, Sachse, Texas, 75048, on May 21, 2008, at 2:00 pm for
the following project: MURPHY ROAD WATER MAIN. Bidders must
submit with their bids a Cashiers Check in the amount of five percent
(5%) of the maximum amount bid, payable without recourse to the City of
Sachse or a Proposal Bond in the same amount from a reliable Surety
Company as guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and
execute bond and guarantee forms provided within ten (10) days after
notice of award of contract to him.
The successful Bidder must furnish performance and
payment bonds each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract
price from an approved Surety Company holding a permit from the State of
Texas, to act as Surety.
All unit prices must be stated in both script and
figures. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids
and to waive any irregularities or formalities. In case of
ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating the price in the bids, the
Owner reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction
thereof, or to reject the bid. Unreasonable or unbalanced unit
prices will be considered sufficient cause of rejection of any bid or
bids.
Bidders are expected to inspect the site of the work and
to inform themselves regarding local conditions and conditions under
which the work is to be done.
Bids may be held by the City of Sachse for a period not
to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of bid opening for the purposes
of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder qualifications prior
to the contract award.
Instruction to Bidders, Proposal Forms, Specifications,
Plans and Contract Documents, etc., may be examined without charge, at
the Sachse Public Works Departments, 6420 Sachse Road, Sachse, Texas,
75048, or may be obtained at RLK Engineering Inc., 6136 Frisco Square
Blvd., Suite 325, Frisco, Texas, 75034, for a fee of Seventy-Five
($75.00) non-refundable. Payment shall be made to RLK Engineering,
Inc.

2008, at City Hall, 5560 SH 78 to consider the creation of the Mixed Use
Zoning District.

PUBLIC HEARING
The Sachse City Council will hold by a Public Hearing on
Monday, May 19, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. at Sachse City Hall, 5560 SH 78 to
seek input from the public regarding an ordinance amending the existing
gas franchise between the City and Atmos Energy Corporation to provide
for a different consideration consider the creation of the Mixed Use
Zoning District.
The public is invited to attend and make comments.

NOTICE OF
SPILL FROM A WASTEWATER FACILITY
A spill from a wastewater treatment or collection
facility has occurred. Facility name: City of Sachse; Contact for
further information: Jeremy Wiseman; Location of the spill: Manhole on
Bunker Hill Road, approximately 500 feet north of effluent flow meter;
Estimated time and date of spill: 3/19/2008 at 7:00 am ending
approximately on 3/20/2008 at 7:30 am; Estimated volume of spill (in
gallons): Approximately 100,000 gallons; Type of spill: Domestic, mostly
storm water; Area potentially affected: Bar ditch on Bunker Hill Road;
Suspected cause of spill: Heavy flood water
The following actions have been taken: Appropriate local
government officials have been notified. TNRCC regional office has
been notified. The spill has been contained. Clean-up
activities are underway / completed.
Other: Area has been disinfected and flushed with
water.
NOTICE OF INDIVIDUAL'S RIGHT TO
REQUEST
PUBLIC HEARING
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in
cooperation with the cities of Garland, Sachse, and Wylie and with
Dallas and Collin counties, proposes improvements to State Highway 78
from approximately 4,000 feet north of the President George Bush
Turnpike in the City of Garland, to Spring Creek Parkway in the City of
Wylie. The proposed project length is 7.617 miles and is located
in the cities of Garland, Sachse, and Wylie.
Environmental documents, maps, and other drawings
reflecting the proposed project's location and geometric design are on
file and available for inspection and copy at the TxDOT Dallas District
Office, 4777 East Highway 80, Mesquite, Texas, 75150. The drawings
are also on file at the City of Garland Engineering Department, 800 Main
Street, Garland, Texas; City of Sachse Public Works Department, 6420
Sachse Road, Sachse; and City of Wylie, City Engineer, 949 Hensley,
Wylie, Texas.
