GARAGE/OCCASIONAL SALES:
The Code Enforcement Department enforces the City's
ordinance on garage/occasional sales. In order to hold a
garage/occasional sale you must obtain a permit from the Code
Enforcement office. For more information or to download a permit,

The
Code Enforcement department, in cooperation with the City's Fire Marshal
offices performs monthly inspections based on complaints and area inspections
to ensure compliance with the City's ordinances.

ENFORCEMENT:
The Fire Department is responsible for code
enforcement of Chapters 5 and 6 of the City of Sachse Code Book. Chapter 5, Fire Protection, includes inspection of duplex and
multi-family dwellings, enforcement of fireworks ordinance, open burning
ordinance, and investigation of arson.
Chapter 6, Health and Sanitation, includes weeds, brush, and
objectionable vegetation ordinance and the bulk trash/debris storage and
pick-up requirements.
Chapter 5:
Inspection of duplex and multi-family dwellings shall
be performed each time a new tenant moves in to ensure building safety,
smoke and fire alarm installation and operation, and that any safety
violations have been corrected. Utilities
will not be transferred in to the new tenant’s name until this
inspection is complete.
By Chapter 5, Section G (f)(a) and in compliance with
Section 78.202 of the Uniform Fire Code, fireworks are prohibited within
the city limits of Sachse and within a distance outside the city limits
for a total of 2,000 feet, except if this area is contained within the
territory of any other municipal corporation.
It shall be unlawful to manufacture, assemble, store, transport,
receive, possess, keep, expose for sale, sell at retail, offer or have in
possession with intent to sell, use, discharge, cause to be discharged,
ignite, detonate, fire or otherwise set in action any fireworks of any
description.
Open burning is not allowed without a permit.
An application and fee must be submitted to the Fire Chief for
approval, at which time a permit will be issued.
Chapter 6:
It is unlawful for any owner of any real property,
occupied or unoccupied within the corporate city limits of the City of
Sachse to permit weeds, brush or any objectionable or unsightly vegetation
to grow to a height greater than twelve inches (12”) upon any such real
property within one hundred fifty feet (150’) of any property line which
abuts streets, alleys and rights-of-way, including drainage and utility
easements, subdivided additions, developed property or any buildings or
structures. It shall be the duty of said owner to cut and remove
unsightly matter as often as may be necessary to comply with this code; at
least once every thirty (30) days shall be deemed a compliance with this
section. If compliance does
not occur, the fire chief or building official shall give notice of such
violation to owner either in writing, by letter addressed to owner, or by
posting publication of the violation.
The owner of the property has ten (10) days to comply after
receiving notice. (As written in Chapter 6, Section 7 (A), (B), (C), and (D) of
the City of Sachse Code Book.)
BULK TRASH/DEBRIS shall NOT be set out until the week
of bulk pick-up. Brush must
be bundled into 4’ – 5’ sections.
The amount of bulk trash shall be no larger than 4 cubic feet
(about the size of a couch). Bulk
trash pick-up week is the week in which the second Wednesday of the month
falls. All polycarts must be
removed from the street/curb after the pick-up day.
Do not leave the polycarts or recycle bins setting by the street.
