AUTOMATIC BILL PAY NOW AVAILABLE

Tired of writing that check each month for your city water utility bill?  City of Sachse now offers automatic debit for payment of your water, sewer and garbage service billed on your water utility bill.  If you would like to sign up for automatic payment, click here to print out the form and return it to City Hall, 5560 Highway 78, Sachse, Texas, 75048.  You may also drop it in the utility payment drop box at City Hall or simply include it with your next payment.  No more hassle of remembering to pay each month -- let us do the work for you.


 

Water/Sewer Service for Residential Customers

A $50 deposit is required on all new water/sewer service.  If you incur no late fees during the first year of service, the deposit will be credited to your account.  For the convenience of our customers, there is a payment drop box at City Hall right next to the mail box.  All payments are due by the 20th of the month.  After the 20th, a 10% penalty is assessed to your outstanding balance.  If the 20th is on a weekend, the penalty is assessed after 5:00 pm the next business day.  A $25 fee is assessed for reconnection of water services made during business hours (Monday thru Friday, 7 am - 4 pm) and a $40 fee is assessed for reconnection of water services made after regular business hours (after 4 pm Monday thru Friday and on Saturday or Sunday).  It is unlawful for any person to interfere with water meters or turn water on after it has been disconnected.   

The City will accept letters of credit reference from a current utility where an applicant for water service has had at least a twenty-four (24) month service history with that current utility.

Applicants for city water services that are sixty-two (62) years of age or older shall be exempt from paying the required utility deposit.

Water Rates: $6.50 Base*                       Sewer Rates:  $6.75 Base
$2.32 per 1,000 gallons                            $2.68 per 1,000 gallons
$3.58 per 1,000 gallons on a sprinkler meter 
*Based on 5/8" meter.
Based on winter-averaging.                   Maximum charge for sewer is $50.

Non-residential water rates will vary by meter size of class.


Garbage, Recycling and Bulk Trash Service

Allied Waste provides Sachse with garbage, recycling and bulk trash pickup.  Residents use a 95-gallon polycart for all trash, including grass clippings.  Trash is collected once per week.  Pickup days vary depending on your location.  If you are unsure of your pickup day, please contact the Utility Billing Office at 972.495.1212, ext. 30.  For residents with alleys, pickup will be in the alley.  Otherwise, pickup will be curbside in the front of the home.  Please have polycarts out by 7:00 am on your scheduled day.  

Recycling pickup for all residential customers is once a week on either Monday or Tuesday, depending on your location.  Recycle bins should be placed in the same location for pickup as your polycarts and must be out by 7:00 am.

Bulk trash pickup is once a month during the second Wednesday week of the month.  Furniture, appliances, brush (4' - 5' lengths) and other large items will be picked up as long as your bulk items do not exceed 4 cubic yards (about the size of 2 sofas).  Bulk items are picked up the same day as your polycart.  ALL BULK ITEMS MUST BE PLACED IN FRONT OF YOUR HOME, CURBSIDE BEFORE 7:00 AM.  The trucks used for bulk pickup are too large to travel down our alleys.  

No tires, batteries, paint, or hazardous materials will be picked up.  Items with freon must be drained of all freon and tagged clear by a licensed A/C company.

Sanitation rates:  $9.81 per month for one 95-gallon polycart 
                                 (charge is included on water bill)
                                 $3.00 per month for each additional polycart

Sachse residents may also take large items to the Hinton Landfill and Wood Waste Center located at 3175 Elm Grove Road in Rowlett AT NO CHARGE.  Check under General Information/Garbage/Recycling for further information.


Electric/Gas Service

The City of Sachse's electric is provided by TXU or FEC (Farmers Electric Coop).  (New homes in Woodbridge Phase 8 are servied by FEC).  Residents must contact TXU or FEC direct for connection, disconnection, transfer, or problems incurred with their service.  TXU may be reached at 1.800.242.9113.  FEC may be reached at 1.800.541.2662.  With deregulation in Texas, service is available from other companies such as Reliant Energy, Cirros, etc.

Telephone Service

The City of Sachse's telephone service is provided by Verizon.  They may be reached at 1.800.483.4400.  Be sure to give them your address and zip code. We have had some new residents indicate that they were told Verizon did not service Sachse.  This is incorrect.  They do service Sachse.  Due to recent sharing of zip codes, they may not, however, recognize the City of Sachse since we are grouped with the City of Garland.


Cable Television Service

Time Warner and Verizon currently provide the City of Sachse with cable television service and high-speed data lines for your computers.
