SACHSE BUSINESSES RECOGNIZED AT ANNUAL
LUNCHEON


Sachse EDC recognized several local businesses at the
luncheon. The awards, presented by Dr. Jerry Parish, went to (top row, left to right)
Chad Engbrock of C&S Media, Inc.; Kim Conoly of K C Dance Studios;
(bottom row) Mike and Frank Millsap of Sachse Rod Shop.

Shown at left, Dr. Clower spoke on 'What Happened to Our Economic
Expansion' and at right, EDC Director Guy Brown presented the status of
economic development in Sachse.
This year's Sachse Economic Development Corporation annual
luncheon, sponsored by Oncor Delivery and Texas A&M Commerce University
was well attended by local business representatives. Guest speaker
Dr. Terry Clower, Associate Director of the Center for Economic
Development and Research at the University of North Texas, spoke on
'What Happened to Our Economic Expansion?'
SEDC Director Guy Brown updated everyone on the role the
EDC is playing in the future development of Sachse. He also
touched on the Beautification Grants available to Sachse businesses.

SECOND LEADERSHIP SACHSE CLASS

Sachse EDC's second Leadership Class attended the Sachse City Council
meeting on May 15, 2006. Mayor Felix presented the group with a
proclamation, proclaiming May 15, 2006 as Leadership Sachse Day.

Sachse provides opportunities for the participants to increase their
knowledge of vital public issues. While striving to create a more
informed and involved citizenry and to develop new leaders for the future
of Sachse, Leadership Sachse inspires a spirit of activism and provides
the members with personal leadership training, networking opportunities
and instruction from influential figures from both the public and private

LEADERSHIP SACHSE CLASS VISITS CAPITOL

Members of Leadership Sachse's Inaugural Class toured the Texas State
Capitol, sat in on a legislative session, and met with Governor Rick
Perry and Representative Joe Driver. From left to right:

HISTORY OF THE
SACHSE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
In 1994, the citizens of Sachse established the
Sachse Economic Development Corporation through a referendum vote.
The SEDC is a non-profit organization created to support companies during their site selection, community
evaluation, and business expansion process.
A seven-member Board of Directors supervises the Sachse Economic
Development Corporation. Board Members
are volunteers who reside in Sachse and want to strengthen the local tax base and
improve the economic environment of the community. The Mission of the SEDC Board of Directors is to assist in the retention and
expansion of business in Sachse.
Some of SEDC goals are:
> Attract desirable businesses and industries
> Retain and expand existing businesses and industries
> Facilitate President George Bush Tollway
> Initiate and build a town center
> Be a very open and accessible community organization
> Provide city services at low cost to local taxpayer
The Sachse Economic Development Corporation wants to facilitate a
local government that is responsive and beneficial to business.
The SEDC is prepared to advance a public-private partnership intended to help Sachse grow and
prosper - a partnership that
generates new job opportunities, increased capital investment, and overall
community improvement. SEDC wishes to set forth a foundation for local businesses that builds on the character and quality of life
in the community.
