As the first to assume the assistant city manager role, Lauren Rose assists the city manager in developing, planning, and implementing Sachse’s goals and objectives by providing high level administrative direction to assigned departments including Finance, Parks and Recreation, Human Resources, Information Technology, Communications and Neighborhood Services. Previously, Rose has served as the Director of Strategic Services for the City of Sachse, where she has also held the positions of Strategic Services Manager and Assistant to the City Manager. Prior to serving the City of Sachse, she has also served as Assistant to the City Manager and Management Analyst for the City of Mesquite.
Rose is a member of the Texas City Management Association, the International City/County Management Association and the North Texas City Management Association. She is a member and former president and vice president of the Urban Management Assistants of North Texas and a former assistants’ representative for the Texas City Management Association board of directors. Rose is also a graduate of Leadership North Texas and Leadership Mesquite.
Rose earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Austin College in Sherman, Texas and a Master of Public Administration from The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. At Austin College, Rose was a Hatton W. Sumners Scholar.
