WARRANT INFORMATION
Court
Issued Warrants
In most cases, when a
warrant for arrest is necessary, a notice is sent to you at the address
shown on your ticket. Additional fines and warrant fees will be
added to the amount due if you have a warrant issued for your arrest.
The Court will issue a warrant when:
●
You fail to appear by your due date.
●
You fail to comply with the Orders of a Judge.
●
You do not complete a payment plan or fail to make payments as
promised.
Resolving a
Warrant
Your warrant may be cancelled if you
plead "No Contest" or "Guilty" to the warrant charge and pay the fine
and court costs. If you want to plead "Not Guilty" to a charge
after an arrest warrant has been issued, you must come to the Court to
post the required bond and obtain a court date to see the Judge.
If you fail to
dispose of your warrant, the Warrant Officer will actively pursue your
arrest. Individuals with warrants are encouraged to take care of
these matters at once to avoid being arrested.
Additionally, your warrant will be
entered into the regional computer system, which will make you subject to
arrest by any peace officer in the State of Texas.
Failure to make disposition on
warrants may cause Texas Department of Public Safety to deny renewal of
your Driver's License. Only full payment will clear the status
with Texas Department of Public Safety and restore renewal of your
License.
In accordance with Texas Code of
Criminal Procedure, Art. 27.14(c), case payment will result in waiver of
a jury trial and a finding of guilt, which may be reported to the Texas
Department of Public Safety.
