The Parks and Recreation Commission acts as an advisory board to the City Council in all matters pertaining to parks and recreation in the City of Sachse.  This Commission studies the park and recreation system of the City and advises Council on issues pertaining to present and future maintenance, operation, planning, acquisition, development, enlargement, and use policies of the park system.  The Parks & Recreation Commission also has the duty of serving as the Tree Preservation Board for the City of Sachse to govern the protection and preservation of trees within the city, to promote the protection of healthy trees within the city, and to provide regulation of the replacement, replanting, and removal of trees within the city. 

Parks and Recreation Commission:

¨   Meets 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm at City Hall

¨   Seven members; members may serve three consecutive two-year terms

¨   Advises on acquisitions, maintenance, operation and use of parks, playgrounds and open spaces

An agenda of their meeting is posted at City Hall and on this website seventy-two (72) hours prior to the meeting.
