The City Council of the City of
Sachse created an Animal Shelter Advisory Committee by Ordinance No.
1056 on December 7, 1992, to assist in
complying with the requirements of the Texas Department of Health
and Safety Code Standards, Chapter 8-23.
The Advisory Committee must be
composed of at least one licensed veterinarian, one municipal-elected official, City of Sachse Animal Control Officer, and one
representative from an animal welfare organization.
The Advisory Committee shall
meet at least three times a year.
The municipal-elected official shall serve as the chairman of
the committee.

HONOREE RECOGNIZED AT APPRECIATION DINNER
Former Animal Shelter Advisory Committee member
Paige Cox was recognized for her time and service at the recent Boards &
Commissions Appreciation Dinner held at Woodbridge in January.
Paige served on the Committee from 2002 - 2007. Mayor Felix
presented her with a Certificate of Appreciation and joined Council and
staff in thanking Paige for her dedication and commitment to the City of
Sachse.
NEWLY APPOINTED MEMBERS TAKE OATH OF OFFICE
At the December 3, 2007 City Council meeting, Mayor Felix
administered the Oath of Office for Michael Minarzick and Rebecca Taylor. They will serve a two-year term on the Animal Shelter
Advisory Committee.
