The Sachse Police Department is excited to offer the opportunity for your child to apply for and attend the 2017 Cops and Campers youth summer camp!Cops and Campers youth summer camp is FREE to all students selected and includes activities and games as well as age appropriate lessons on anti-bullying, fire safety, internet social media safety and more. Each weekly camp will also feature guest speakers and a field trip. The camps are run by the School Resource Officers from the Sachse Police Department in conjunction with select high school students requiring volunteer hours for clubs and college resumes and PTA members.The Cops and Campers summer camp will be offered over four separate weeks. The hours of operation for each camp are: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm daily. Please note we can only accommodate 25 campers per week and spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Students who will be in Grades 6 through 8 for the upcoming school year are eligible to participate.

You may choose one camp to attend and one alternate choice in the event your first selection is not available. Campers will be required to bring a sack lunch and a water bottle each day. If you do not receive an email from the Sachse Police Department stating the date your child will attend camp this means spaces were filled by other students whose information was turned in first. Please note we can only accommodate 25 campers per week at each location and spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

A. A current Student Information Sheet and a signed Accident Waiver must be on file with the staff before any members can become involved in any camp activity.
B.While in Cops and Campers, the members will be required to treat themselves, other members, and staff with respect.
C. When engaged in camp activities, the members will participate in a positive and sharing manner, not use profanity, and not behave in a disruptive manner.
D. Any injury to a member will be reported immediately to the staff.
E. Members will follow the directions of the SROs at all times.
F. No fighting will be tolerated in camp.
G. No members will bring any drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, gang-related clothing or materials, or weapons to the camp or any camp outings. The only exception will be doctor prescribed medications.
H. Members will wear tennis shoes and socks only. No flip-flops, slip ons or boat shoes will be allowed in camp.
I. No loitering will be allowed outside of the school by members or non-members.
J. Failure of a member to follow these rules may result in the member being removed from the program.
A. When any member is riding on a bus, they will follow the directions of the staff and use all safety devices, i.e. seatbelts. B. The member’s behavior will be of a positive nature and there will be no disruptive behavior in any vehicle. (No disruptive behavior will be tolerated in any way.)
C. If refreshments are carried on a bus, only staff members will access them.
D. Respect will be shown for all passengers and all passengers are prohibited from damaging or defacing any portion of the bus. For this reason, no pens, markers, or pencils will be allowed in the vehicle except for use by the SRO.
E. Before any member is transported on a bus, a current Membership Application and Accident Waiver must be on file with the staff.
F. Failure to obey any of these rules may result in the member being removed from the program.
A. All members will treat themselves, other members, staff, and the general public with dignity and respect.
B. No member will be separate from the camp group without getting permission from the SRO.
C. Unless otherwise stated, members will be responsible for paying for their own refreshments and/or souvenirs.
D. Members will follow all the guidelines that the staff feels are necessary to ensure the safety of the outing participants.
E. Any member who fails to follow any of these rules will be removed from Cops and Campers, barring extenuating circumstances.I agree to follow all rules and regulations concerning conduct and dress. Should I violate these rules I understand that I may be subject to expulsion from the program.
The participant named above has permission to go on the above described sponsored trips. I/We the parents of the above-named student, in consideration of the Sachse Police Department agreeing to take my child on said sponsored field trip, hereby give my/our approval to his/her participation therein. I/We assume all risks and hazards incidental to such participation including transportation to and from the activities, and I/We do hereby waive, release, absolve, indemnify and agree to hold harmless the City of Sachse, the Sachse Police Department, the teachers, organizers, sponsors, supervisors, participants, and persons transporting my/our child to and from such field trip, for any claim arising out of an injury to my/our child, whether said injury occurs at such field trips or while being transported to or from same. Transportation to field trips will be provided by Garland Independent School District bus.
I release the Sachse Police Department, Cops and Campers, and GISD from any and all liabilities or responsibilities pertaining to accidents, injuries, or complications resulting from activities while enrolled in Cops and Campers.
I authorize the Cops and Campers leadership to transport the above named participant to the nearest hospital in case of injury or suspected injury while the participant is involved in a Cops and Campers activity.
I authorize the hospital attending physician to administer necessary emergency professional medical care to the above named participant upon his/her arrival at the hospital.
On occasion, members of the local media will attend the Sachse Police Cops and Campers and interview SRO's as well as student participants. This release allows for media to video the summer camp and participants which could possibly air on both network television and local cable stations.
My child to be filmed, recorded, interviewed by members of the media while participating in the Sachse Police Department Cops and Campers.
Please print the name(s) and drivers license number(s) of persons authorized by you, the parent/guardian of this child, who you will allow to drop off and pick up your child(ren). If a person is not listed below we will not release your child to them under any circumstance. The Sachse Police Department recommends having at least one person listed who is not the parent/guardian. Please list yourself.
