LOCAL SALES AND USE TAX

The local sales and use tax for Sachse is 7.75%; 6.25% of this total is Texas State tax, 1.00% is City of Sachse tax and 0.50% goes to Sachse Economic Development Corporation.

 

2007 Certified Taxable Values and Calculated Tax Rates

Sachse City Council adopted the Fiscal Year 07-08 budget and tax rate at the September 17, 2007 Council meeting.  The budget documents are available by clicking on the links below.  If, after viewing these documents, you would like additional information, you may drop by City Hall to view a complete copy of the budget.

PLEASE NOTE: The tax bill you receive from your County will include the City taxes.  Dallas County and Collin County are now responsible for collecting City of Sachse taxes.  Therefore, if you have a question on your tax statement, it would be best to contact your County Tax Assessor.  See below for contact information for Dallas and Collin County taxing entities.

Following is a breakdown of an average tax bill for Sachse homeowners in 2007:

Average home value:  $170,610
Average annual tax bill (City taxes only):  $944.17
(If you want to calculate your total tax bill, you must also calculate your County taxes and add that to your City taxes.  This is the amount you will be billed by the County for County and City taxes.  You will also receive a tax bill from your school district.)

Sachse is located in two counties; Dallas and Collin.  Residents living in Dallas County will receive a tax statement from Dallas County that will include county taxes and city taxes.  The school taxes will come from Garland Independent School District.

Residents living in Collin County will receive a tax statement from Collin County that will include county taxes, city taxes, and school taxes all on one statement.
