Brush and bulk trash collection November schedule

Please remember, brush and bulk is collected once a month, on your regular collection day, either the week of the second or fourth Monday of the month. Residents may place bundled brush and bulk trash items at their usual collection point on their regularly scheduled collection day. For the month of November, collection days fall on the weeks of Nov. 11 or Nov. 25. Trash will not be collected on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28. Constitutional Amendment/Special Joint Election to be held on Nov. 5

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, a Constitutional Amendment/Special Joint Election will be held to vote to adopt or reject ten proposed Constitutional Amendments as submitted by the 86th Legislature of the State of Texas. There are no City items on this ballot. View the proposed Constitutional Amendments. Veterans Day ceremonies to be held on Nov. 9 and 11 in Sachse

On Nov. 9, the Sachse Historical Society will host a Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 9 at 11 a.m., at 3033 6th Street, with special guest speaker Major Morris Shepherd. Visit www.sachsehistoricalsociety.com for more details.

Then on Nov. 11, Wylie ISD will host a 2019 Veterans Day program at 10:40 a.m., at Wylie Stadium, 2550 W. FM 544. Guests are requested to arrive by 10:20 a.m. for seating. Sachse Public Library to host International Games Week from
Nov. 3 - 9

Next week, the Sachse Public Library will join thousands of libraries around the world to celebrate International Games Week. Visit the Library, 3815 Sachse Road, Building C, from Nov. 3 through Nov. 9, to pick out a board or card game to play while in the Library. A special GAME-ON Family Game Night event will also be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m. Visit www.cityofsachse.com/Library for more information and hours of operation.

Sachse First Responders host Truck-or-Treat events on Halloween

Sachse Police and Fire departments hosted a spirited night of “Truck-or-Treat” on Oct. 31 for Sachse residents. The first responders passed out free candy and giveaways to more than 200 children at the Public Safety Building and Fire Stations No. 1 and 2. Trick-or-treaters also had the opportunity to explore first response vehicles, including a police car, fire truck and ambulance.
