Herb Gardening Class this Saturday!
Join us at the Library this Saturday, April 9 at 2 p.m. for "Edible Herbs of Texas," a free herb gardening class with Collin County Master Gardener and professional speaker Chauncey Allmond.
Whether you grow herbs in a raised bed, tuck them into a flower bed, or grow them in a container with drainage holes, herbs will add beauty and scent to your garden or kitchen. This presentation will help you identify which herbs you can safely consume, and more importantly, how to grow them for culinary use.
Our speaker will present common herb blends such as Bouquet Garni, Herbs de Provence and Fine Herbes, and demonstrate how to work with herbs by stripping, chopping and making a chiffonade. Learn how to grow and harvest herbs, why you should grow herbs and see some of our favorite annual, biennial and perennial herbs, as well as design ideas for your herb garden.
This free presentation is brought to you compliments of the CCMGA.
