Rolling Into Sachse: The Pumpkin ExpressWhat a treat! Don't get tricked. Be sure to mark your calendar and set an alert. The Pumpkin Express is scheduled to arrive from 6-8:30 p.m. on Halloween, Saturday, October 31. Look for the Pumpkin Express in your neighborhood. A schedule of neighborhood stops is available online.
Parks & Recreation staff will stop at select locations throughout the city to hand out 2,000 mini pumpkins and goodie bags to trick-or-treaters. If you miss the Pumpkin Express or it doesn't pass through your neighborhood, the final stop is from 8:30 to 9 p.m. at Sachse City Hall.

Instead, Dallas County experts recommend other activities to have fun and enjoy Halloween...while protecting your health. Here are a few activities which are safe and spooky: - Online parties/contests.
- Car parades.
- Halloween movie nights, at home or try a night at the drive-in movie theater.
- Halloween-themed meals with your family at home or in an outdoor setting at your favorite restaurants.
- Scavenger hunt style candy searches around your home or yard with family members.
If you go out for Halloween, please remember to wear your mask, maintain social distanceing, wash your hands frequently and get your flu shot. Avoiding illness is the ultimate treat.

Felix Community Center extended reservation hours for the basketball court, walking track, ping pong table, and Wellbeats. Make your appointment from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday hours remain the same with appointments from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Availability is filling up quickly, so give us a call at 469-429-0275 and we'll book your time.

Early Voting The City of Sachse designated the Sachse Senior Center as an Early Voting and Election day location for Dallas County residents only.
Due to this being a Presidential Election, residents of Collin County must vote within Collin County. Closest Locations are: Wylie Senior Center, 800 Thomas Street, Wylie and Murphy Community Center, 205 N. Murphy Road, Murphy. Please visit the counties' websites for any additional locations.

Don't Miss The Great State Fair of TexasThe Big Tex Fair Food Drive-Thru is a progressive food experience on the grounds of the great State Fair of Texas. Tickets are available here and range from $65 to $99, plus add-ons. The last day of the Fair is Sunday, October 18.
Visitors drive through the the fair grounds, which are decked out in State Fair style, and pick up Fair food favorites along the way. At Big Tex circle, visitors park and exit their cars to have their annual pictures taken by a professional photographer. The experience continues with a drive along the Lagoon to pick up sweet treats and have some Midway fun!
While the entire experience takes approximately one to one and a half hours, please arrive with a full tank of gas. If you'd like to enjoy your food before heading home, then bring a picnic setup. Simply stop and set up in one of the parking lots as you exit the fairgrounds.

Bulk & Brush Ordinance Amended; Set Out Times Change January 2021Have you heard the news? Beginning January 2021, bulk trash needs to be placed out no earlier than 48 hours prior to your scheduled collection day. What about brush? It goes out on the Saturday prior to your collection day.

Apply Now at Collin CARESFunds for residents of Collin County, who are not within the City of Dallas, are available! Apply now.
The Collin County Housing and Living Assistance Program reports applications are coming in fast for Collin CARES grants. This program provides assistance for rentals, mortgage, utility and food cards with funding from the Department of the Treasury COVID-19 Act.
Funds are expected to last through the end of November 2020. Your funds are reserved once eligibility is established and supporting documentation is submitted and verified.

Team Up to Fight HungerTeam Up to Fight Hunger is a collaboration of Sachse, Wylie, Murphy and area community partners to provide food to people and families in need while supporting local restaurants. Families receive vouchers after completing a screening process with participating area food banks. Families can then take the vouchers to participating local restaurants, who have curated special menus for the families to choose from when ordering their meals. Each voucher is valued at $40 and provides a meal for a family of four. Families can go online at www.TeamUptoFightHunger.com/vouchers for the latest update about participating restaurants in the area and to check what each restaurant is serving for its customized meal.

City Hall Closed to PublicCity Hall is temporarily closed to the public. This protects residents and staff from further spread of the COVID-19 virus. All City services are still available, but residents and customers should call ahead to make an appointment for in-person services. Please complete transactions online whenever possible. The Michael J. Felix Community Center and the Sachse Public Library remain open, but are closely monitored for social distancing, wearing masks and limiting the number of people in the facilities. Thank you for your flexibility as we continue to serve Sachse residents.

The chart includes the number of active cases, where the cases are located by county, the gender of the patients, status of the patients (e.g., hospitalized, self-quarantined) and the number of recovered cases.
