[ARCHIVED] America Recycles Day

Today is officially America Recycles Day which brings an end to our 5 week long campaign to educate the community on the importance of recycling. Thank you to everyone who participated! The library set up a table with informational flyers on recycling, as well as a recycling bin for library patrons to recycle items. At the November 5, 2012, City Council meeting Mayor Felix read an America Recycles Day Proclamation. Then on November 8, 2012, Park Board members Jeff Bickerstaff and Diana Smith read recycling stories to children and led them in a fun recycling activity. The Sachse Baseball Association also joined in educating its’ players on the location of recycling bins in our City parks. Although the campaign is over, we want to encourage everyone to continue recycling and we hope that you will participate in our Citywide Great American Cleanup/Arbor Day event coming on April 13, 2013. We will have more information to come on this event and how your group or family can participate. Together, we can make recycling bigger and better 365 days a year!
