OpenGov Transparency Portal

The City of Sachse is offering an interactive online reporting tool that allows citizens to explore the City of Sachse’s financial data online in various graphical formats.  The Financial Transparency Portal, powered by OpenGov, improves the overall financial transparency allowing users to view the data at the highest level or drill down to detailed expenses/revenues.  Users can also download the data into an Excel spreadsheet.   

Bond Information

The City of Sachse is reviewed and rated by two separate rating agencies.  The City of Sachse maintains AA- with Standard and Poor’s; Aa2 with Moody’s.  There are not any bond elections currently scheduled.

Quarterly Budget Report 

The Budget Report includes revenues and expenditures for the General, Utility, Debt Service, Impact Fee, Special Revenue, Street Maintenance Tax, and Health Insurance funds.  Reports available soon.

The City of Sachse provides online check registers for accounts payable and payroll disbursements.  The registers posted exclude information that might provide protected information. Reports available soon.

The City of Sachse participates in the Government Finance Officers Association award programs for both the Annual Budget and the CAFR.  The City has received the award for Distinguished Budget Presentation for five consecutive years as of 09/30/17; The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 17 consecutive years as of 09/30/2015.

HB 3693 Compliance Report

The City of Sachse will comply with the requirements of HB 3693 by compiling and posting the following information annually:

  1. The total metered amount of electricity, natural gas and water used by the City.
  2. The total amount paid for electricity, natural gas and water.

Municipal Advisor Certificate

The City has an Independent Registered Municipal Advisor in compliance with the SEC Municipal Advisor Rule.

Tax Rate

The current 2017 property tax rate is $.747279 in Dallas County and Collin Rate per $100 valuation.  The sales tax rate is 8.0% with the City retaining 1.75%.  Visit Tax Information for more information on tax rates and the breakdown of how they are used.

Unclaimed Property

The City of Sachse holds various types of property (valued at $10 - $100) which were unclaimed and presumed abandoned and are subject to Title VI. Chapter 76 of the Texas Property Code.  In accordance with the State Law, any amount over $100 is sent to the State Comptroller where it is held until claimed.
