Your application will be reviewed by the Volunteer Coordinator. All areas of the application must be completed or have a N/A placed for Not Applicable, in order to be processed.
Character Reference & Background Check
Contact will be made with the three individuals you provide as references. Failure to provide complete contact information will result in delay of the application process. The Police Department will conduct a background check to determine your eligibility to serve as a volunteer.
Upon completion of the background check, the prospective volunteer will be contacted for an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator, and/or his/her designee. Waiver forms, and confidentiality forms will be signed and notarized at this time.
Final Interview with Police Chief
All volunteer candidates will have an interview with the Police Chief. The Police Chief will make the final decision on whether a candidate is accepted or not.
Acceptance or Non-Acceptance
All applicants will be notified by mail or phone of their acceptance or non-acceptance to the program.
Please note under “Terms and Signature” section of the application, an applicant will release the Sachse Police Department from providing a reason for denial to the program.
Participation in other City of Sachse programs does not guarantee acceptance to the VIP program.
